Magic Pre MP4200-P (with Power Supply)

After 10 years of Magic Pres, we've decided to make things more flexible with some new features!

Upon considering feedback from users and pondering the real needs of the audio community, we now introduce the MAGIC PRE 4200 (MP4200) 4-channel Discrete Mic/Line Preamplifier for audio recording and sound reinforcement. Producers, musicians, engineers, and studio owners will find the same level of sonic juiciness in which they have come to trust and depend. First of all, we have to talk about the look! It's stunning. We wanted to make the channel layout more intuitive and ergonomic. You can effortlessly navigate the controls on each channel and the labeling is easy to understand. And face it, the graphics are just - WOW!

New to the MP4200 is the 31-step Alps pot. It feels great, is so solid, and allows precise control of gain staging on stereo sources, getting back to where you were when adjusting for dynamic performances, or recalling your settings for future sessions.

We took the opportunity to add the much-debated polarity switch. In adding this switch, we've gone to great lengths to ensure its reliable performance, which helps maintain the highest audio fidelity.

Room was made for a larger dual impedance mic input transformer*, giving you the option of how to drive the front end on a channel-by-channel basis (switched internally).

An often requested addition is the Buffered Line Input allowing you to switch in some Maigic Color and Gain to your line level signals. Great for summing or putting a little analog warmth on those sometimes cold and lifeless digital sources.

For those of you who can't get enough channels, we now have an external power supply that can power up to 32 channels of MP4200 (that's 8 1U Rack Units). The power connections are daisy-chained through each unit. Multichannel setups need only buy their first MP4200-P model and add subsequent MP4200-X 4-channel expanders, bringing your per-channel cost lower.

One last added feature is an even lower noise and distortion floor.
